Take control of your LOTION. Find out how to make your own……

We’ve all done it: flipped over a bottle of store bought body lotion, squinted at an ingredient list full of unpronounceable chemical preservatives and synthetic fragrances, and wondered what we're actually absorbing into our skin. Then we put it in our cart and with out giving it a second thought put it on our skin. Why because these brands are suppose to be trusted brands because they said so. ugghhh makes me so mad. Cheap product for top dollar price these days.

When it comes to our daily self-care, why settle for a mass-produced product that doesn't serve your body's deeper needs? Taking control of your skincare means you get to decide what goes on your skin, and more importantly, what works for your body. It truly is that easy we should stop letting everyone think for us.

If you are looking for a rich, deeply nourishing cream that goes beyond basic hydration to support your overall well-being, this whipped botanical blend is your new go-to. It’s packed with whole, intentional ingredients designed to feed your skin barrier, steady your mood, and support your natural rhythms.

Why These Ingredients Matter

Every single component in this recipe serves a specific purpose, combining traditional herbal wisdom with deep, heavy-duty moisture:

  • Shea Butter: The ultimate creamy base. It melts right into the skin, locking in moisture WITHOUT CLOGGING PORES, leaving your skin with a dewy, non-greasy glow. The glow everyone keeps paying 100s of dollars for.

  • Beeswax: Nature’s protective shield. A touch of beeswax helps lock in hydration, giving the lotion a wonderful, velvety body that protects against dry outdoor air.

  • Castor Oil: A powerhouse oil known for its deep-penetrating fatty acids. Historically and traditionally loved for supporting circulation and lymphatic movement (plus keeping things moving smoothly from the inside out when used topically on the abdomen).

  • Wild Yam Root: A traditional herbal favorite long used by women to support hormonal balance and ease the natural shifts of midlife.

  • Chasteberry (Vitex): Partnering alongside wild yam, chasteberry is renowned for supporting female hormonal equilibrium and cycle harmony.

  • Ashwagandha Root: An adaptogenic herb that helps smooth out stress and keeps everyday anxiety from slipping in, supporting your nervous system from the outside in.

  • Cut Yam Root & Local Honey: Using raw, local honey on hand adds humectant properties that draw moisture directly into the skin, while whole botanical elements ground the recipe in nature.

  • Lemon & Vanilla: The ultimate scent pairing. Bright, clean lemon meets cozy, warm vanilla for a signature aroma that feels like sunshine and comfort all at once—a scent you won't ever want to change up.

What You’ll Need

  • 1/2 cup Raw unrefined shea butter

  • 2 tbsp Pure beeswax (cut or pellets)

  • 2 tbsp Castor oil

  • 1 tbsp Local raw honey

  • Chasteberry, yam root cut up use the whole roots and lemon peals for the brightening of your skin.

  • Essential oils for scent: 10–12 drops of lemon essential oil and a touch of vanilla extract or vanilla beans for that warm, sweet finish

How to Whip It Up

  1. Infuse Your Oils: Gently infuse your carrier oil with your dried wild yam root, chasteberry, and ashwagandha root using a double boiler on low heat for an hour to extract all those rich plant properties, then strain.

  2. Melt the Base: In a clean double boiler, combine your shea butter, beeswax, and infused herbal oil. Heat gently until just melted and combined.

  3. Blend & Cool: Stir in your castor oil and local honey. Transfer the mixture to a glass bowl and place it in the fridge for about 20 to 30 minutes until it begins to opaque and semi-solidify (think soft-serve consistency).

  4. Whip to Perfection: Pull it out of the fridge and use a hand mixer to whip it vigorously for 3 to 5 minutes until it transforms into a light, fluffy, cloud-like body butter.

  5. Add the Magic Scent: Drop in your lemon essential oil and vanilla, give it one final quick spin with the mixer, and scoop your fresh creation into a clean glass jar.

Massage a generous dollop onto your arms, legs, or abdomen whenever your skin—or your nervous system—needs a little extra grounding love.
