This lotion is crafted with an unwhipped base and a 3:1 oil-to-shea-butter ratio, creating a smooth, fast-absorbing texture that melts right into your skin. Almond and castor oil give it that silky glide without ever feeling greasy, while the spiced evergreen aroma lingers softly, like a sweater fresh from the dryer.
🧴 Sugarwood Infused Lotion Recipe
Base Ingredients
1 cup unwhipped lotion base (or your own shea + oil blend)
2 tbsp sweet almond oil
1 tbsp castor oil
1 tbsp jojoba oil (for glow + absorption)
1 tbsp shea butter (softened, not melted)
Infusions (optional but divine)
1 tbsp clove-infused oil
1 tbsp orange peel-infused oil
(To make: soak dried clove or orange peel in warm almond oil for 1–2 weeks, shaking daily.)
Scent & Additions
3 drops sweet orange essential oil
2 drops clove essential oil
1 drop cinnamon bark essential oil
2 drops pine needle or fir essential oil
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp raw honey
½ tsp vitamin E oil
💧 How to Make It
Warm the base: Gently heat your unwhipped lotion base until it loosens — do not overheat.
Blend oils: Combine all oils and softened shea butter until smooth.
Combine: Whisk the oil blend into the base until silky.
Add scents & honey: Stir in essential oils, vanilla, and honey until fully blended.
Bottle & set: Pour into a clean jar or pump bottle and let it rest for 24 hours for the scent to bloom.
