Get Calm, Before the Storm Flows In…..

DIY Hormone-Balancing Herbal Lotion & Scrub for Radiant Skin and Inner Balance

When your skin is dry and your mood feels off, it’s often your body signaling that your hormones are a little out of sync. Our hormones affect everything — from our energy and hydration to how well our skin retains moisture and handles inflammation. This herbal lotion and scrub blend is designed to nourish your skin while supporting hormonal harmony, thanks to ingredients like chasteberry, wild yam root, and pea flower.

These botanicals have long been used in women’s wellness to help ease PMS symptoms, stabilize mood swings, and soothe cramps — while also creating visibly softer, glowing skin.

🌿 How It Works (The Science Behind the Glow)

Chasteberry (Vitex agnus-castus) helps regulate the pituitary gland, which controls levels of estrogen and progesterone — two key hormones that fluctuate during the menstrual cycle. When balanced, these hormones can reduce prostaglandin production, which in turn decreases cramping and bloating.

Wild Yam Root contains diosgenin, a natural plant compound that mimics the structure of progesterone. This helps ease symptoms of PMS and menopause by supporting hormonal equilibrium and improving mood and skin elasticity.

Honey & Aloe Vera draw moisture deep into the skin, helping with dryness often triggered by low estrogen levels.
Tea Tree & Oregano Oil work as natural antimicrobials to keep skin clear and calm.
Shea Butter, Almond Oil & Castor Oil restore the lipid barrier, sealing hydration and supporting the skin’s natural sebum balance — which can fluctuate with hormonal changes.

When combined, these ingredients nurture both your outer glow and inner harmony.

🧴 DIY Herbal Healing Lotion

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup raw shea butter

  • ¼ cup almond oil

  • 2 tbsp castor oil

  • 1 tbsp beeswax

  • 1 tbsp raw honey

  • 1 tbsp aloe vera gel

  • 1 tsp dried chasteberry

  • 1 tsp wild yam root powder

  • 1 tsp dried butterfly pea flower

  • ½ cinnamon stick

  • Zest of ½ lemon

  • 2 drops tea tree oil

  • 2 drops oregano oil

How to Make:

  1. Infuse the Oils: Warm almond and castor oil on low heat. Add herbs, yam root, chasteberry, lemon zest, and cinnamon stick. Simmer gently for 25–30 minutes, never letting it boil.

  2. Strain and Blend: Strain out herbs and add the infused oil to melted shea butter, beeswax, and honey. Stir until smooth.

  3. Cool & Whip: Add aloe, tea tree, and oregano oil once cooled slightly. Whip until creamy.

  4. Store: Keep in a glass jar in a cool, dry place for up to 3 months.

Massage into skin after a shower, especially on the lower abdomen and thighs — areas where blood circulation and muscle tension affect menstrual comfort the most.

🧂 Bonus DIY: Hormone-Balancing Body Scrub

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fine cane sugar or brown sugar

  • ½ cup almond oil

  • 1 tbsp raw honey

  • ½ tsp wild yam root powder

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • 3 drops lemon essential oil

  • 1 drop oregano oil (optional, for purification)

How to Use:
Mix until it forms a paste-like texture. Use in gentle circular motions to exfoliate dry skin. This scrub not only sloughs away dead cells but also boosts lymphatic circulation — supporting detoxification, reducing water retention, and easing PMS bloating.
